Our Traceability System
As a manufacturer of AC adapters and switching power supplies, we provide our customers with high-quality and reliable products. To maintain product quality, we have established a thorough traceability system. This page introduces part of that system.
The Importance of Traceability
Generally, traceability refers to the ability to track and verify the entire process of a product, from raw materials through manufacturing and distribution to final sale to the consumer. This ensures product safety and quality and allows for quick response in case of any issues. As an example of our traceability management, we would like to explain our serial number management system.
Backward Traceability from Serial Numbers to Production Lot History Data
Above is an example of a product label for our AC adapters. All of our products are assigned a unique serial number, as shown above. Instead of using weekly or monthly codes, each product has a unique number. If there are any issues or concerns with a product, we can trace its history back to its production lot using the unique serial number. This allows us to verify the production line history for that product and check the production codes for parts supplied by each supplier to the production lot. For instance, if a specific component tends to break down in the market, we can trace back to when and in which lot that component was produced and identify the supplier and the production date of the parts allocated to that lot. Therefore, if there is an issue with that component, we can quickly inform our customers about the potentially affected range of products we have shipped.
Preserving Production Lot History Data for 20 Years, with Cross-Lot and Cross-Model Searches Available
The historical data of our production lots linked to serial numbers has been preserved for 20 years for all products.
Below is a part of the history data:
- Production line
- Production date
- Production quantity
- S/N range (including any missing numbers)
- Names of workers at each process stage
- Solder layer parameters
- Names of component manufacturers
- D/C of components
- Defect items in each inspection process (including defective components and S/N for electrical characteristic defects)
- IPQC patrol inspection records
- OQC inspection records
These data are linked to many other data sets, allowing simultaneous searches across multiple production lots and models. Establishing traceability has further improved the safety and quality of our products. We will continue to strengthen and enhance our quality control to ensure that our customers can confidently use our AC adapters and switching power supplies. In case of any product trouble or issues, our traceability system enables us to respond swiftly and appropriately, thereby maintaining our customers' trust.
